The Egyptian Pharmaceutical Trading Company was established in 1965, and since that date it has become the first company responsible for trading and distributing pharmaceuticals within the country. In light of a policy that guarantees efficiency and justice in providing medicine to all citizens throughout the Republic. The Egyptian Company is one of the largest importers and distributors of medicines in Egypt, in addition to being the national company entrusted with the responsibility of importing the country's needs for imported medicines that do not have local alternatives. In addition to oncology and biotechnology medicines that meet the needs of citizens, hospitals, health institutions, treatment and pharmaceutical companies.

The company is authorized to trade imported, unregistered and unpriced medicines and distribute them through the Egyptian Company's 78 pharmacies. It is also the only company authorized to buy and sell psychotropic and narcotic medicines. The company also owns (48) sales branches to serve and fulfill the needs of private pharmacies in all governorates of the Republic.

In addition, the company owns (4) hospital supply centers in major governorates such as Cairo, Assiut, Mansoura and Alexandria. The company is considered a safety valve for the Egyptian citizen, providing infant formula, therapeutic milk of all kinds and insulin with strategic stocks to ensure their availability and prevent monopolies. It also plays a key role in the distribution of local and manufactured medicines for commercial, private and investment pharmaceutical companies, in addition to imported medicines through the private sector, ensuring a strong sales assortment for its customers from hospitals, authorities, treatment and health insurance institutions and private pharmacies, supplying all family planning methods in the Republic and meeting all the pharmaceutical needs of citizens day and night through emergency pharmacies and call center units spread in all governorates that work in two shifts as well as the main call center in Shubra to meet the requests of pharmacies.
